Good wood, cut once,

We build from solid premium heart redwood and cedar — woods that stand up to rain, sun and insects without chemical treatment. Nothing here is particle board with a veneer on it. What you see is what it's made of, all the way through.

- Clean trim, tight corners, sanded edges. The back looks as good as the front, because somebody's going to see it.

What neighbors are saying.
Ryan built us a five-foot well for the front flower bed and it's the first thing every visitor comments on. He measured the space himself and matched the stain to our fence.
Solid work at a fair price. The crank actually turns, the bucket is real, and two winters later it still looks like the day it was delivered. You can tell it wasn't thrown together.
We asked for a planter box in an odd size to fit under a window and he built it exactly to the inch. Delivered it and set it in place himself. Couldn't ask for better.

One man, one bench,
one piece at a time.
Wilson Woodworking is Ryan Wilson, building out of a shop in Orangevale, California. No production line, no overseas kits — just good lumber, sharp tools and the time it takes to do a thing properly.
Every build starts with a conversation about what you actually want: how big, what wood, which stain, where it's going to sit. Then it gets built for you, signed off by the same hands that cut it, and delivered to your yard.

How long does a build take?
Most wishing wells are ready in about two to three weeks depending on the size and how many builds are ahead of yours. Larger custom pieces can take a little longer — you'll get a real date before we start, not a guess.
Do you deliver, and how far?
Yes. Delivery is available throughout the greater Sacramento area, and we'll set the piece where you want it rather than leaving it at the curb. Just mention delivery when you call so it's built into the quote.
Can you build a custom size?
That's most of what we do. Planter boxes come in any size you need, and wells can be sized to the spot you have in mind. Bring measurements — or Ryan can come look at the space.
Cedar or redwood — what's the difference?
Both are naturally resistant to rot and insects, so either will live outside happily. Redwood is the premium step up: richer color, tighter grain, and heart redwood is the most durable part of the tree. Redwood adds $100 to any well.
Will the well actually hold water?
A standard well is a planter — the box is lined and planted. If you want a true working water feature, add the water basin with a working pump for $100 and it runs like a fountain.
How does payment work?
A deposit gets your build in the queue and the balance is due on delivery. Cash, check and the usual card apps are all fine.
How do I take care of it?
Very little. The stain and sealer do the work. Re-coating every couple of seasons keeps the color rich, and we're happy to walk you through it when we drop it off.
